A/C Compressor Switch

(1999 Honda Civic)
If the A/C cools intermittently, is there potentially a "switch" problem with the compressor. If so, where is it located and can it be changed inexpensively?

Honda's also have issues with corrosion buildup on the battery at the main fuse box feed wire. Check that first. Yes they also have a low pressure cut out switch that is located on the reciever/dryer.
