OBD II Fault Code

  • OBD II P2590

OBD-II Code Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure is defined as a Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor "B" Circuit

The engine computer (PCM) controls the boost from the turbocharge using a Turbocharger Vane Position Solenoid. The PCM confirms the solenoid is working as desired by using a Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor. If the Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor fails to correctly report back to the PCM, code P2590 will be stored.
