Our automotive experts have put together the following information about the P2405 diagnostic trouble code. We've provided the common symptoms that occur when this code is set along with the frequent repairs that address the issues related to the P2405 code.

OBD II Fault Code

  • OBD II P2405

OBD-II Code Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure is defined as a Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Sense Circuit

The Evaporative Emission System (EVAP) vents fuel vapors from the tank to the intake manifold so the vapors are burned through the engine's normal combustion process. The EVAP system uses a leak detection pump sensor to monitor the pressure/vacuum in the EVAP system. If the sensor sends back an implausible signal, code P2405 will be set.

Common Problems That Trigger the P2405 Code

    • Evap leak detection pump failure
    • Leak in the evap system
    • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure
    • Restriction in the evap system
    • Wiring issue
