Our automotive experts have put together the following information about the P207A diagnostic trouble code. We've provided the common symptoms that occur when this code is set along with the frequent repairs that address the issues related to the P207A code.

OBD II Fault Code

  • OBD II P207A

OBD-II Code Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure is defined as a Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve Position Sensor/Switch Circuit

The Intake Manifold Tuning Valve allows the engine computer (PCM) to allow for increased airflow through the engine at higher engine speeds. The PCM uses an Intake Manifold Tuning Valve position sensor to confirm the Intake Manifold Tuning Valve is performing as requested. If the PCM sees an implausible signal from the position sensor, code P207A will be stored. The position sensor is built into the valve assembly.
