    OBD-II Code Transmission may not shift properly is defined as a Stuck in Gear 3

    The automatic transmission matches the engine optimum power and torque characteristics to the driver's desired rate of acceleration and speed by auto-selecting different gear ratios or 'speeds' to power the wheels. If the Transmission gets stuck in Third Gear, code P072E will set.
