    OBD-II Code Decreased engine performance is defined as a Cold Start "A" Camshaft Position Timing Over-Retarded

    The engine control module (PCM) monitors Ignition Timing on initial startup. If the Ignition Timing varies excessively from where it should be, the PCM will set code P052D.

    Decreased engine performance Symptoms

    • Decreased engine performance
    • Engine may not start
    • Hard engine start

    • Engine oil level is too low
    • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure
