OBD II Fault Code

  • OBD II P046B

OBD-II Code Catalytic converter temperature sensor failure is defined as a Catalyst Temperature Sensor 1/2 Correlation

The Catalytic Converter uses multiple temperature sensors to ensure that the Catalytic Converter is working properly and does not overheat. The engine control module (PCM) will compare readings from multiple temperature sensors to ensure that all sensors are properly calibrated. If the PCM determines that one or more sensors has lost its calibration, the PCM will set code P046B.

Common Problems That Trigger the P046B Code

    • Catalytic converter temperature sensor failure
    • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure
