Our automotive experts have put together the following information about the P011D diagnostic trouble code. We've provided the common symptoms that occur when this code is set along with the frequent repairs that address the issues related to the P011D code.

OBD II Fault Code

  • OBD II P011D

OBD-II Code Increased fuel consumption is defined as a Charge Air Temperature/Intake Air Temperature Correlation

The Charge Air Temperature Sensor measures the temperature of the air going through the charge air cooler. The Intake Air Temperature Sensor measures the temperature of the air going into the engine. The engine control module (PCM) will compare the two readings to determine if sensors are reading correctly. When the PCM determines that one of the sensors has an irrational reading, it will set code P011D.

Common Problems That Trigger the P011D Code

    • Charge air temperature failure
    • Intake Air Temperature (IAC) sensor failure
    • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failure
    • Wiring issue
