Our automotive experts have put together the following information about the P011B diagnostic trouble code. We've provided the common symptoms that occur when this code is set along with the frequent repairs that address the issues related to the P011B code.

OBD II Fault Code

  • OBD II P011B

OBD-II Code Increased fuel consumption is defined as a Engine Coolant Temperature/Intake Air Temperature Correlation

The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor measures the temperature of the coolant going through the engine. The Intake Air Temperature Sensor measures the temperature of the air going into the engine. The engine control module (PCM) will compare the two readings to determine if sensors are reading correctly. When the PCM determines that one of the sensors has an irrational reading, it will set code P011B.
