3rd brake light works sides dont

(2010 Jeep Liberty)
My 3rd brake light is working on my 2010 liberty sport. But my sides arent...tried new bulbs ..both old and new work in the running light socket... could brake switch be bad if the 3rd light works..or multi function switch

Multifunction switch is the more likely culprit - I think the brake light switch on this vehicle controls all brake lights..

Of course *hands-on* circuit testing will be required to confirm.

Make SURE the ‘hazard switch’ is not partially engaged..

The bulb SOCKETS are also problematic - I suppose both could have failed.

As you can see - *hands-on* testing is the ONLY way to determine what the actual failure is.
