327 cu in Chevy. Compression test number 7 spits out lots of gas when cranking.

(1990 Chevrolet Corvette)
I have removed exhaust manifolds and all 8 spark plugs. Cranking compression is 180. I have readjusted valves. Hydraulic lifters. My compression in other cylinders is between 150 to 180. Number 7 is 180. Rocker arms, valves all appear to be working correctly. Gas spits out when cranking. While adjusting other cylinders gas continually spits out. A lot of gas. Need your help please. I had heads vacuum tested before installing. Gas only spits out number 7 spark plug hole. I’m stumped
What seems to make the problem better or worse? Nothing
How long have you had this problem? Today as I did compression test

Last production year for the 327 Chevy was 1969..

Particularly the fuel delivery system (aspiration) type..

Excessive gasoline tends to wash the cylinder walls clean resulting in ‘low compression’ due to lack of oil film coating - - compression readings seems to be ok here.

Are you absolutely positive this is “gas” that’s being expelled and not engine coolant ?

IF original type - the engine should actually be the 5.7L (350) fuel injected (L98 - LT5)
