1990 ranger 2.3 engine hard to start, when it starts runs rough for about 30 sec

when engine runs about 30sec. engine smooths out and runs fine, any ideas

review when last tuned. may be due. i am guessing it turns over? do manual test for fuel pump. turn key to start but stop just before it turns and listen. should be a short whirring sound. this is your pump priming the line. should last 2 seconds then cut out.
rec. fuel system clean. ethanol treatment to 1 tank premium. possible build up in fuel delivery, and combustion chambers.
should get diagnostic run to see if any other issue you should be aware of.
