code 12 means thaere is no distributor signal, in other words, it is not running.

check the distributor pick up coil. it should ohm out 800-1500 ohms. it was the most common failure.

Thanks roy, but i think code 12 is normal when the engine is not running, isn't it?

yes it is. if it sets with it running, the distributor is failing.
