Young's Auto provides a full range of diagnostic and repair services, including A/C and heat, emissions, transmission, and full engine repair. We utilize a full range of computer diagnostics. Also, we are ASE and L1 certified, and an ASA member. Young's offers fleet accounts and commercial repairs, and are participants in the Texas LIRAP program. We are a Carquest Tech-net shop and offer national warranties.

Young's Automotive Center
The right wheel hub assembly sounded like it was about to break off from previous experience so I got it towed here. Never used them before but they were friendly and very helpful. They even made made sure I was able to get home and get a rental car as well. The repair only took a day to repair and it was ready by 2pm. Repair was less than $300. If I have any future problems I will keep them on speed dial.

Youngs charges 90 diagnostic fee. This is roughly twice as much as any mechanic in the area for the same job. Not to mention that it doesnt go toward the work done. When I picked up my truck the exterior visor was hanging off. I showed the mechanic. He walked over, ripped the entire thing off, handed it to me and said I needed to glue it back on. The truck started having the same problem 4 weeks after I brought it in and when I called they said theyd need another 90 dollar diagnostic fee. HA! I will NEVER use them again.

We invest a great deal of money in training and test equipment to diagnois vehicles accurately. With the high cost of parts, we are very careful to diagnois correctly the first time. My technician is paid for his time and training to test your vehicle. Then we repair the vehicle if approved by the customer.
The drivers side window had an aftermarket plastic visor on the outside that was attached with double sided tape and was coming off. We offered to glue it on, but customer did not have time so we removed it and put it in customers hand to prevent damage.We hope you find a repair facility that you trust. -

The owner of Young's (Glenn) has gained widespread recognition for his expertise in the auto mechanic business through his lecture tours (which he still regularly performs) throughout and beyond Texas and through his leadership in national organizations promoting education and excellence in the auto repair industry. He has always shown the utmost integrity in our dealings, and I credit the excellent running condition and reliability of 13 year-old car to his excellent care.

My car was taken to Young's Automotive more than 3 times, and they could not find out what the problem was with my car. It would not start at any given time, no warning. Drove the car to Louisiana and was stuck there a week with no car and finally the car was sent to a dealership and repaired.

I am so sorry we could not diagnois your vehicle. The dreaded "intermittent problem" is very frustrating for you and our shop. Many times, even with the latest diagnostic tools, we cannot test a vehicle that is not broken while at the shop.

For the past 3-4 years I have been taking my SUV to Glenn & Betty Jo for their expert repair & advice. Each and everytime I feel welcomed and appreciated.
You know when you can't describe the sounds or actions your vehicle is making? Ya, me too! I tell Betty Jo best I can and some how she intreprets my gibberish and can pinpoint my needs, without making me seem foolish!

I arrived in Houston for a flight on 30 June. We arrived at the Comfort Suites hotel very late on the 29th and when we got up to drive to the airport the next morning the car just wouldnt start.
A week later we are back from NY and I was desperate to get the vehicle started. Triple A confirmed the battery wasnt the issue. I anticipated extensive work on some part of the electrical conduction system.
Got the car towed to Youngs where they quickly confirmed the source of our non-motility: we had a defective gas guage! We had driven in on fumes!
I was quite humbled when the team at Young's just poured a few gallons into our old 95 Honda Civic and it started right up.
That meant our return to La. would not be delayed til the afternoon. Yippee!! Only trouble was, I do not and most likely never will drive a standard!
Betty Jo and the crew were awesome. They got a ride back to the hotel and took my wife over to retrieve the (fully fueled up) Honda Civic.
You may read this and say "Brad, they really didnt do anything.. you didnt have 'car trouble' you were just stupid not to consider low gas as the problem." True enough. The guage issue will have to be solved another day. The mechanic we dealt with was very helpful (Sorry I dont have his name, Betty Jo!) He explained that with the tank size on the Honda we could easily drive a hundred miles before needing to refill.
I'm so grateful that it wasnt a genuine vehicle maintenance issue requiring all the costly labor and parts we've all come to expect from car repair.
I know there are unscrupulous folks in the auto repair biz. But those folks are not to be found at Young's. I will travel back to Louisiana and you can bet if anyone ever asks me for a referral for a mechanic in Houston I'll steer them to Young's.
It is also a plus when the folks working on your car actually have extensive experience as owners/repairers of your make and model!
And the fact that they took me back to the hotel and then brought my wife to the car is a huge plus as well!!
4 stars for quick accurate diagnosis and cure of the problem. 10 stars for service during a very stressful morning.Thanks again Betty Jo! Great company! Wish the big pricey dealerships were as customer-care focussed!

As a woman, I'm always wary of automotive shops, but Young's Automotive eased my fears. I took my vehicle there because I had a "check engine" light on. Glenn Young took the time to explain the origin of the problem and even told me how to avoid the problem from reoccuring. There was also an explanation of the cost instead of simply handing me the bill. They were also very speedy with the repair. If I had any another problem, I'd have no hesitation to take my car to Young's. I know that I'd be treated with respect and get quality care for my vehicle.
