MY MECHANIC TELLS ME HE CANT GET A REPLACEMENT EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR MY TRUCK BECAUSE HE SAID "THEY" STOPPED MAKING THEM AND NOW WERE TALKIN WELL OVER A GRAND TO REPLACE IT ALL. HE WANTED TO GET A CUSTOM PIECE MADE AND ELIMINATE MY CAT CONVERTERS(2). I SAID I'LL NEVER PASS INSPECTION N HE JOKED JUST BRING IT BACK HERE. I LOVE MY BRONCO N HAD TO TAKE IT OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE OF FUEL COSTS LAST YEAR;I CURRENTLY DRIVE A FORD CONTOUR BUT,REALLY MISS DRIVING THE TRUCK. IS "SHE"(MY BRONCO) TURNING INTO A MONEY PIT? IS IT WORTH IT? FUEL PRICES WILL PROBABLY GO UP N I'M ONLY 37,RELUCTANTLY,RETIRED ON "SSD" N ON A FIXED INCOME. ALSO,CONSIDERING BUYING AN RV TO LIVE IN; CANT TOW THAT WITH A CONTOUR; RIGHT? SOME HONEST N MOST SINCERE ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK U FOR YOUR TIME N "GOD BLESS". PEACE TOO;?*)

I find this hard to believe. Is it the catalytic converter that is hard to find? You really should get another opinion, and try a few exhaust/muffler shops.

I find it hard to believe that your mechanic can't find an exhaust for your bronco. Check out this link to LMC trucks. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/t.aspx they sell all kinds of parts for many different trucks. Also try looking out on EBAY, I have an 87 Bronco and found a new Y-Pipe and Cat converter for about 200 bucks for the set. Hope this helps

I have a 90 bronco with the 5.8 in it, I have no problem finding parts for it, the exhaust system is easily replaced with parts from fleet farm, if not an exhaust fabricator can make the appropriate bends in straight pipe...i recommend checking out JCWhitney, parts and most are good prices. Your mechanic does see a money pit, but if you love the truck, keep in mind they dont make em like that anymore.
