Report: Worn Shift Bushings Will Cause Manual Transmission to Pop Out of Gear
Toyota T100 Problem
Model Years Affected: 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998
Drive Train Affected: 2WD
Average Mileage: 104,666 mi (92,000 mi - 121,000 mi)
On vehicles with a manual transmission, worn shift bushings can cause the transmission to pop out of gear, especially when coasting down in 1st or 2nd gear. Replacing all the shift linkage bushings is pretty straight forward and not expensive and will commonly correct this concern.

Manual xmission takes a lot of effort to shift into 1,3 and 5. Clutch fully disengages; plan to take to dealer if I cannot find a known solution. I found the solution for my issue - bought Toyota P/N 33505-35020 (Seat Sub-Assy) and installed it by removing the floor shifter (find instructions on internet) and using a hemostat to remove all of the pieces from the old, broken down piece. Installed new piece and everything is perfect now.
