Question: working on friends car,2002 grand am found gas in the oil, why?

3.4l changed oil , next day found gas in oil again,i am baffeled, can you help

     Master

    Check for defective fuel pressure regulator. Remove vacuum hose to the reg., eng.off, and see if gas is in hose.
    if so reg. is shot.
