POSS NUETRAL SAFETY SWITCH.DOES IT START IN NEUTRAL?

I ay have used the wrong word-I believe I replaced the neutral safety switch but may have called it the brake witch. The one behind the brake pedal. It will not start in neutral

Won't start or won't CRANK? Brake switch IS under at brake pedal, neutral safety is part of the 'range selector' switch. , which is on the transmission. May have 2 different issues.

I do believe there may be 2 separate issues as the non starting was very occasional (every 6mths) or over a year. At one time, when it wouldn't start, the shifter did move. That is why I think it may be two different issues as you suggest. So I guess I need to concentrate on the no start, but they may be intertwined It will turnover but not start. When I get the click when I step on brake-starts. So, I did replace brake switch. Ive been reading about Main relay. When I turn key I hear a click and fuel pump whir-would that indicate that main relay is working?
