Question: Wont Start

Hi!!! Car wouldnt start so I had to get jumpped. Went to get battery looked at and was told it was fine. Car wouldnt start at autozone so had it jumped. Started just fine. Now it wont start, only sometimes ( whenever it feels like it) took it to autozone two days later and they tell me its a bad battery. I bought a new one and it wouldnt start. Jumped it again and got it home. Now it wont start even with a jump. Car has been backfiring recently. I had the spark plugs changed new wires and distributor cap. Please hellllp! (its turning over put not starting btw)

    Hi,
    These 740's can have this issue for several reasons. I suggest you check the diagnostic trouble codes in the fuel and ignition computers or have a shop do this for you. This information will help to determine what is going on here. I would also replace the fuel pump relay, these are very problematic.
    If you get the codes, post them here and I can give more info..

    Thanks for the help!!!! I called the Maitland auto place and they have both the fuel pump relay and the cable that leads from the ignition coil to the distributor cap, (since the kit at autozone didnt bring one that was long enough) I cannot get it checked for codes as its dead in front of my house and cant get anyone to come out. I will replace these two things and go from there. Ill keep you posted. :)
