i agree with the dealer. what was the fuel pressure. you need a certain pressure to get the injectors to fire. you need to check crank sensor for spark. you need to check timing belt to see if it jumped or broke.

Remove the rear seat bottom and the black access cover on the driver side, find the wire that supplies power to the fuel pump, see if it's getting 12 volts when trying to start the car.
I would also get the codes checked by the dealer. This vehicle has 20+ computers that all communicate together in a network, and there are possible issues that you wont be able to determine from your basic tests, for instance you could have a problem with the immobilizer system or the alarm, but you'll never figure that out unless you get those codes.
