1991 Subaru Loyale Question: Won't start

darrell c ryan, Tacoma, WA, May 10, 2010, 10:53

Car won't start. There's only power to fuel pump when it start's but when the ignition switch returns to the on position there's no power to the fuel pump.I checked fuses, Okay. When the key is in the on position, there's no power to the line side of the fuse for the fuel pump circuit, only in the start position. I've checked the pump and ignition relays and both of them are good. I've replaced the ignition switch relay on the steering column. I'm stumped. Only thing I can think of now is the SPFI unit.

Probably should check the ignition switch as it might be failing
