It could be so many things it is impossible to guess without being able to do some basic diagnostic tests to see if the engine has lost fuel or spark or if the problem is mechanical. The engine has a timing belt and this engine has two distributors in the ignition system. There is no real common sensor or item that fails on the LS400 or SC400 usually a great engine.
