I replaced the crankshaft dampener pulley and now the car wont start. It acts like it jumped time but what does the balancer have to do with the timing?

I believe the crank position sensor is down at the crankshaft pulley , make sure the harness there is OK and or perhaps the sensor itself got damaged. Hyundai as a car manufacturer put a lot of free technical information and workshop manuals on line for Hyundai owners. Check out www.hmaservice.com lots of great information. Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info

So am i correct that it really has nothing to do with the timing? How could that have gotten damaged?
