Question: won't shift into gear

Not, 3.0L V6, Cresson, TX, January 02, 2010, 18:32

 Rookie

Starts but when I push on the brake it won't shift into gear.

  Check the switch on the upper part of the brake pedal its available at the auto parts store for 8 to 15 dollars, Hope this helps

  I have the same problem on my Mercury Grand marquis 95, I found the cables that goes to the switch was broke. Fix the cable and everything is back to normal. THANK YOU!
