It sounds like your kick down cable or Throttle Pressure Valve is stuck in the power position. Check to see if there is a vacuum line to your trans, if there is then make sure it is on correctly. Also take it off and make sure no fluid comes out, that is a sign that the Vacuum Transducer is broken and needs replacing. If no vacuum line, then make sure that the kick down cable works well, it is a cable that goes to your throttle body next to the throttle cable but it goes down to the trans. It should operate SMOOTHLY when you pull it. Best of Luck!

Try cleaning your MAF (mass airflow filter). I found this to be an issue where my vehicle would not shift up while accellorating or trying to pass. It would wind out and I would have to take my foot off of the gas to get it to shift. A dirty MAF also caused hesitation at take off.
