Question: Won't go into any gears....

Hello, My '95 Chevy Tahoe won't go into any gears, reverse, nothing....it won't even lock into park, I have to use the emergency brake...it just happened one day, no slipping problems or anything. Could someone tell me what could be wrong. Thanks.

    It sounds like you may have a problem with the shift linkage (external to the transmission) or a broken linkage inside the transmission pan on your 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe. A quick look under your Tahoe should tell you if the problem is inside or outside the transmission. If the shift linkage is moving the shift lever on the transmission that would indicate the external linkage is OK and the fault is inside. If the external linkage is not moving correctly then the problem is the shift cable or the shift linkage in the steering column.
