The blower motor as you found is in the engine compartment behind the battery, the fuse that protects it is 40 amps, the toggle switch used was probably under rated to carry that high a load. The blower motor if it is seizing could draw higher current perhaps it is bad. The blower motor has a controlling relay under the dash attached to the heater core/air conditioning evaporator housing under the dash. There is also of course the controlling switch and a blower motor resistor that controls the speeds. When the resistor pack fails it usually results in the motor working only on high speed. The resistor is also located under the dash in the heater core hosing and is located with two bolts securing the resistor pack.
