This happened on my 2002 Impala and I took it to my mechanic. The only repair he knew of from the Chevy manual was going to cost ~$500. His suggestion was that since the car was just out of the warranty period (by about 1000 mi.) I try the dealer - I did and I was only charged about $30 to fix it. This happened again recently, and different mechanic, again about $500 to fix. Needless to say, the wipers are still up. I'm going to spend my next day off looking for the tab. You would think that Chevy would include the simple fixes snd not just the $500 ones.
