Question: Windshield wipers come on by themselves

Windshield wipers come on by themselves. Appears to do it more often when turn signal is used. Comes on sometimes when just riding down the street.

    Same here, I have the same problem where they'll suddenly come "on" un-commanded for 1 or 2 sweeps???

    I know..this is a strange problem. There is a wiper switch module which has probably gone bad on your system. Common problem on the '99 Merc. Sable.

    I have found that when your car is out or almost out of the windshield wiper fluid it will do this. What I have done is just add some more and it will stop doing it until it needs it again.

    Have the same problem(2005 GMC Sierra). Replaced the master control stick for $223(part cost). It did not fix the problem. i'd like to know more about this "wiper control module" mentioned earlier. Any thoughts on this?
