Question: Will panel display message 'oil service' 'inspection' keep car from starting ?

The car was driven and parked. The next day it would not start. It does not turnover. The oil indicator goes from yellow to red.

    No it won't it is just an indication of over due service. Check the battery connections are clean tight and secure, check the battery voltage at rest is 12.6 volts or else the battery is not fully charged. Try jump starting the car using jumper cables if it starts your battery may be bad or at least needs to be charged and tested, if it still doesn't start perhaps the starter is bad but basic tests need to be done before jumping to conclusions.

    Your EWS security system could have gone bad, preventing your car from starting. This is a common problem with these BMW's.

    You need a BMW factory scanner to check security issues.
