It's a 2008 Mercedes C230. We parked the car on a hill turned the wheel to the curb. When we cam back the car would not start. Some times we would hear clicking and sometimes we wont, but the car never turns over. The battery is good because when we turn on the head light there is plenty of juice. We even tried jump starting the car just in case more juice is needed but no luck. We can't even straighten the wheel because the steering never unlocked. Anyone have any ideas?

MasterCheck the connections at the starter, perhaps put a ground lead from the car you are jump starting from th the engine block of your car so you illuminate the possibility of a bad ground circuit on your car after that you are looking at testing the starter and or voltage drop tests.

Realgentleman, April 19, 2010, 13:20RookieI was able to fix the problem some how the program on the key was changed is what I can seem to determine. Because when I reset the key to the original setting it worked. I thought the chip in the key was what allowed the car to start or not. But not only that I still don't know how the program in the key to be changed when all I did was put it in my pocket and walk around with my GF and her child to do some shopping! Isn't the programs stored in the car and not the key?

Visitor, November 27, 2010, 08:15ReplyYou press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. Hold for 6 sec than you will see a light where the lock button is and it should blink twice. That should reset the key to the factory settings. We did take it in to the dealer to check the car out and they informed us that the key or chip in the key went bad and replaced the key for us. Good luck.
