Will not start on 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier

Was driving my 1994 calalier in cold weather this winter. Turned of the car and it would not start back up. Replaced the fuel filter and it ran for a second and died again. Cranks fine now but still won't start. What might the problem be?

When a vehicle cranks over, but doesn't start, there are several things that can cause this. You need to check for the appropriate fuel pressure and make sure the injectors are firing properly. The ignition system needs to be checked to see if the spark plugs are firing, and that the timing is correct. In addition to these things, the engine timing needs to be checked. You can start by checking trouble codes and see if any are stored as this may help direct you to the cause of the problem.
