Question: will not idle below 3500 rpm

car will not idle below 3500rpm and will not shift into overdrive but at times it will run normal check engine light is off hooked up a scanner no codes any ideas?

    Hey Joe,
    This can be due to many things, and the next step is to have it diagnosed. I'm assuming the Check Engine Light is on, is that right?

    no the check engine is not on at times the car not go into overdrive and idles around 3500 rpm but i can shut the car off and sometimes it runs perfectly normal i wish the check engine light would come on i plugged it to scanner no codes got me puzzled
