Question: Will cleaning the egr ports help me pass the NOX test? I have tried many things

Replaced the EGR valve, solenoid, and frequency valve, O2 sensor, CAT, and did tune up. Please help! Running out of options.

    you need vacuum and exhaust for the egr to work. these models have extreme carbon build up in the vacuum ports and in bad cases, require replacement of the intake manifold.

    did you have it re tested?? if it fails, ask about a waiver.

    There was a bunch of gunk clogging the ports. I cleaned it and hope its enough to get it to pass in the morning. Will keep you posted.

    Make sure valve clearances are correctly adjusted so often over looked on Hondas. EGR ports in the intake manifold frequently get restricted and plug up! Ensue ignition timing is not advanced.
