Why would the engine sieze up if there is oil in the pan, no noises, electrical? on 2003 Suzuki XL-7

That same day our engine seized up we had our oil changed, 10 miles and 9 hours earlier. The shop said they followed the computer recommendations for the oil, filter etc. There is oil in the pan, on the dipstick. What would you recommend?

It seems coincidental. Is there any way the engine was started by them without oil in it? Ask them if they were in your shoes would they feel suspicious? Was there any explanation offered as to the cause of lack of lubrication?
