the battery fell down into the van. it won't restart, i have checked all fuel lines, fuel pump is working; when i try to start it, there is no start and it just shuts down.

JourneymanIf it cranks it's not likely to be the battery. I'm not sure what you mean by it fell down. The fuel pump could run and not give you the right fuel pressure. Check fuel pressure, check for spark, and check for codes.

feelingroovy, January 14, 2013, 11:34Rookiewhen you say check for codes, how is this done? everything else has been checked, battery is fine; when we hit a big bump going down a country road, i guess the box that used to hold the battery in was gone it just dropped. any advice is appreciated. ty so much. peace

gmc4me, January 14, 2013, 19:09ReplyJourneymanI dont know if there is an auto store by you that will check the codes but we have autozone here by us and they will check the codes in the computer for free. There is a computer that they hook up to what is called a DLC connector and the tool they use can pull the codes from the engines computer which will help point you in the right direction for the repair.
