Question: Why would an improperly installed brake cylinder cause the emission light to turn on?

Question

Visitor, 4 Cylinder, Fort Lauderdale, FL, March 28, 2010, 21:40

My brake warning light turned on. Was told that I needed a new brake master cylinder. Two days after the installation the emission warning light came on. I returned to the place that did the work and they told me there was no connection. When I said I was going to the Ford dealer and if there was indeed a connection that I would be back asking for a refund they decided to "take a look." Three hours later they had taken off the brake cylinder they had installed two days before and put on another one. The light is now off.

the red brake warning light will only come on when the fluid level is low, the hand brake is not totally released, a pressure differental between the 2 sections of the master or may come in conjunction with an abs failure. There is no connection to an emission code unless they knocked off or moved something in the replacement of the cylinder.
