I got my 2007 dodge charger R/T about a year ago it has 177,000km on it now. it starts fine! but once I start driving it wont shift out of first gear and wont rev over 3000rpm. once I reach 3000rpm the gas peddle gets really hard and wont go over 50km/h... the check engine light is on and the Tiptronic wont work either. could this be a problem with the torque converter? or maybe speed sensor? or is my transmission finished? im bringing it in for service tomorrow morning and will repost what the dealership says. but if anyone has had this issue I would really appreciate any help! Thank you!
why wont my charger shift out of first gear and wont go over 3000rpm? on 2007 Dodge Charger

Sounds like the transmission has not been maintained, or maybe the other services as well. Does the trans fluid look burnt or clean fluid.

Transmission fluid looks clean and smells fine, also the Transmission is not making any noises. The car is in Limp Mode from what I can tell. I brought it to dodge this morning, I`m hoping its just a sensor. Thank you for your reply ProfessorG. I will re post in full detail the diagnostics once I get the car back.

so the issues I was having with the charger was that the car was in ``limp mode`` many things can cause the car to go into limp mode. my reason was that my electronic plate on top of the valve body is finished. I found an expert in transmission that fixed it for me for 800$! my check engine light is off and the car runs perfectly!
