Question: Why my 2006 Duramax won't charge for up to 5 min Then works fine after.

This only happens when engine is cooled down

    possibly a sluggish regulator inside the alt.does this happen in all weather and are your batteries getting old this would cause this problem. if they are orig they are approaching 6 yrs and may need replacing

    I installed a new alt,and batteries and same no charge.And it seems to take longer to kick in,the colder it is.
