1994 Ford F-150 Question: why is my engine backfiring through my intake and lossing power when acelerating

 Rookie

it only happens when im acelerating or going uphill..it also seems to acelerate on its own time to time..i have to put the transmission in nutrual and reve the engine to go again

    Several possibilities, a scanner and ignition scope will narrow it down to find out exactly what the problem is so you dont waste money on someone else just guessing and you throwing parts on it!! Now the guessing begins!

    In the back of engine vacuum lines fries cause of cross over emission tube leaks ,look in back of engine ,you should see if plastic vac lines
    Melted, its a known problem but not saying its your problem..
