why does my powertrain malfuction indicator light comes on on 2006 Mercury Mountaineer

the powertrain malfuction light comes on you can hit reset and it will go away or when you turn the car off and back on it will not be on anymore

This is likely indicating that a fault has been detected by the powertrain control module. You will need to have a repair shop check the diagnostic fault codes and then perform a diagnosis to see where the problem lies.

You have a powertrain issue that is minor but you will need to go to reapir shop to determind where it is

I have an 06 premier w/4.6 engine. I had intermittent ABS lt with constant engine lt (U1900, B1676, u0101) with tranny shifting erratically. I replaced all spark plugs and the issues were fixed. Spark plugs ran $10 ea.
