Question: WHY DOES MY EXPLORER CUT OFF WHEN I PUT IT IN GEAR?

THE CAR RAN FLAWLESSLY CROSS COUNTRY AND BACK BUT WHEN I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY I STARTED IT BACK UP AND WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE IT JUST CUTS OFF? WHAT COULD THAT BE? IS IT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS OR WHAT?

    Your idle speed is controlled by the PCM(computer). It could be a faulty Idle air bypass motor.

    I figured it out. Turned out the torque converter was bad. Even though it was supposedly repaired by aamoco they ended up replacing the whole transmission with another rebuilt unit. Then when i put it in gear it jus puttered out and that ended up bein a fuse under the hood that was causing sum engine circuits to fail from firing. I hope this helps snyone with the same problems
