Question: why does my car engine sound like its still on after i turn it off?

My car engine stays on after i turn the ignition off. this causes the battrey to die. what's wrong?

    is it the engine or the front cooling fan? the cooling fan CAN operate without the key, but if it stays on all the time, it's defective. ask around for a good local shop; people will gladly tell who are the good guys.

    Thank you! It doesn't stay on all the time,but when it does it kills the battrey. I will take your advice.
