2001 Volkswagen Beetle Question: Why does my 2001 beetle hydroplane when it rains?

When I hit a bump or when it rains the car is all over the road, why?

    poor tires, or travelling to fast

    It has new tires and this happens at a rate of speed around 35mph when wet. It also jerks especially in the rear end when ever you hit any flaw in the road it pulls to the left.

    Yes poor tires, excess speed or bad shocks not keeping the tires firmly on the road.
