2003 GMC Yukon XL 1500 Question: Why does a/c blow hot air on driver side only?

 Rookie

The yukon will be cold air when started at time while driver it start blowing got air on driver side. Whern i shut engine and restart it will start with cold air agian.

    there are blend doors that control this,poss bad blend door on d/s or circuit issue( controller)

    low refrigerant charge, the computer cannot keep the whole vehicle cold with the charge in the system, but its pretty smart, so when the refrigerant pressure goes below a certain value, it tries only to keep the driver of the vehicle comfortable. so the refrigerant system has a leak and its low on refrigerant.

    though the blend door is more probable, I have seen where a low refrigerant charge did the same thing. my response was based on running into the problem before where the fix was not the blend door motor, but the system being low on refrigerant.
