2002 Chrysler Sebring Question: why does?

why does my car shut off when the a/c is on? it doesnt shut off right away though, and the service engine light does not come on either??? when the a/c is off it runs a little bit better but it does shut off from time to time. example: when coming up to a stop light, i'll come to a complete stop and in about 2-3 seconds the car will begin to die down then shut off. im baffled... Another thing that ive been noticing is the when the a/c is turned on you can feel and hear a loud "click" i believe it is the fan because when the fan turns on but the "click" noise is not as loud. could it be the compressor? please help. and thank u for taking the time to read this. Hello,
Mike from Allied Service Center here. Fortunately, your problem is not an uncommon one. Basically, if the engine is stalling a combination of two things is probably happening. Either the engine is underpowered for some reason and can not keep the a/c compressor, or the air compressor is too hard to turn over and over stresses the engine. I would like to know if it runs ok without the air condition on.I would say that it could be your mass airflow sensor, it is located at the air filter, with the car running air on use a screw driver and peck on it and see if it idle up and run better, if so that is the problem.
