When I am driving my car, it will lose power and die down when I come to stop sign to stop or turn a corner after lifting my foot off the gas pedal. It jumps a little and then just cut off. What do you think causes this. It could cause me to be rammed in the back. I just brought a new air filter a few months ago.

This happened to me one before and it was caused by incorrect ignition timing.
Yet a faulty Throttle Position Sensor, Mass Air Flow senosr or Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor can also be likely culprits.I wold look for a damaged or disconnected sensor near the air cleaner/intake.

goodguy October 08, 2012, 20:04ReplyMasterif it has a mass airflow sensor I would tap the sensor with a small hammer while the car is running if it stalls then you will need a new maf
