Question: Why do my brakes squeak only when I am in reverse?

Every time I back out of my garage my brakes squeak.

    If they only do it one time I would say old brake dust. If they do it all the time then inspect the pads and make sure they are not cracked or unevenly worn.

    I did go back to the mechanic who installed new brakes last year, and he applied something to make them stop sqeaking, but it hastn't helped. Maybe it needs more of that something to do the job. Thanks for your comments.

    Hello i have to agree with Hal on this one and i would also suspect the rear brake shoes may need to be cleaned and adjusted and if you have rear rotors they may be glazed and have a mirror like finish.HAVE A BLESS DAY from DR. RECO.

    I went back to the mechanic who installed new brakes last year, and he told me that there was dust so he packed some "stuff" to make the squeaking stop. It hasn't worked. Thanks for your comments,
