2004 Hyundai Elantra Question: why do I hear a chirp or sweek when I depress the brake peddle
Answer #1mmtech December 04, 2011, 12:51Enthusiast
well typically that leads to your brake pads are down to the metal plate or near it, and/or it needs a check something could of put it out of alignment. it depends were are you hearing it from front or back? left or right?

just hearing it in the front and it is actually when I release the brake peddle....think I need front brakes!

I hear a chirp when I press the brake peddle and my brakes pads are fine. I think it is something in the deployment of the brake that is making a noice, but I haven't asked anyone to look further.
