White smoke coming from the exhaust and an illuminated Check Engine Light could indicate the head gasket has blown.

White smoke out of tailpipe, check engine light always on. Sometimes it would flash upon starting up. ANd I was going thru engine coolant like twice a week filling up the overflow container. Blown head gasket $1,000 later. UGH!
